Inner Circle

In  quarantine, I began challenging myself by working in new window formats. I channel a situation or challenge in my life and begin collaging my subject matter into elaborate scenes that allow me to process those feelings.  Often the imagery is either constrained by or breaking out of larger shapes or windows.  I then draw those scenes focusing on the form, light and challenging myself with intricate details.

This process allows me to illustrate what sometimes feel like our indescribable circumstances -- parenting, disabilities, relationships, grief and persevering.

These drawings represent windows of hope, captured in tumultuous times.
