TEDxWCMephamHigh 2019

Art as time travel. Artist and high school teacher, Christine Stevens draws as a way of documenting her life. In this talk she open her sketchbooks and shares her most intimate drawings in an effort to get even the untalented among us to start making marks to make meaning. Her sketchbooks cover more than 20 years of her life. Young adulthood, marriage, children, she takes you inside Christine has found that drawing provides her with a pathway to connect to specific memories and create a time capsule of moments and events in her life. Through this artistic visual documentation of her life she can essentially travel through time to experience and reflect upon important moments again and again. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
